Spotify ends support for Windows Phone app?

However, Spotify has since clarified matters: they are still supporting the app on Windows Phone, adding that it has no plans to give up on Windows Phone yet. In fact Windows Phone 8.1 or Windows 10 Mobile owners still expect that the Spotify will keep running smoothly until then.

We reached out for Spotify on comment on the issue yesterday and Spotify issued the following statement this morning;
Our main goal at Spotify is to offer the best music experience on the market, covering all platforms. To clarify our recent information regarding the Windows Phone experience, we will continue supporting the Windows Phone 8.1 experience moving forward and we are actually improving our support for Windows 10 in our coming update 5.2, which will be available starting today.
The customer support agent who was the source of the confusion was apparently “misinformed” and there appears to be no truth to his statement.
As Spotify is one of the largest streaming services, pulling the app from the Windows store would have been a vote of no confidence in Microsoft’s platform, and we’re glad to see that the company was quick to address the error.
